under The University of Bucharest, in conjunction with The British Council, The Romanian Cultural Institute, and The Writers' Union of Romania, Announces the publication of Poems and an Interview by Esther Morgan translated into Romanian by MTTLC graduate Adriana Oprișan The MTTLC eZine Translation Café is now publishing a selection and translation of poems by Esther Morgan, as well as an interview with the poet. The poems were originally published in English by Bloodaxe Books. The present selection was made and translated into Romanian by Adriana Oprișan, former MTTLC student. Specialised translation is a job. Literary translation is a calling. Translation of poetry is the trickiest of them all. It may be for the first time that a big publishing house meets the students of a large university. Five poets published by Bloodaxe Books worked with the students of the University of Bucharest, the MA Programme for the Translation of the Contemporary Literary Text. The result was magic. It brought poetry into the lives of about one hundred students. Revista online a MTTLC publică în acest număr, în traducere, o selecție din poemele publicate la Bloodaxe Books de poeta Esther Morgan. Poemele au fost selectate și traduse în limba română de absolventa MTTLC Adriana Oprișan. Traducătoarea a luat și un interviu poetei, pe care l--a tradus în românește.
Traducerile specializate sunt o slujbă: traducerea literaturii este o vocație. Traducerea de poezie este cea mai buclucașă dintre toate.
Probabil pentru prima oară, poeții unei edituri mari s--au întâlnit cu viitorii lor traducători, încă studenți la o universitate de renume. Cinci poeți de la Bloodaxe Books și directorul editurii au lucrat împreună cu studenții Masteratului pentru Traducerea Textului Literar Contemporan, Universitatea din București. A fost un moment magic. Poezia a coborât în viețile a o sută de studenți.
